BACKGROUND
BSDS is
registered under the Social Services Department of the Government of Peoples`
Republic of Bangladesh belonging a Registration No. Farid - 354 and Joint Stock
Company registration no. S-3992(94)/2004 started its development initiative in
1997 in Faridpur district. BSDS introduced with prime goal to assists the
rural and urban poor people to arrange themselves in groups for their
socio-economic uplift in the locality. BSDS is taken a multi-sectored
socio-economic development program, which is implementing motivation and group
formation, agriculture and social forestry, micro enterprise development, women
employment generation, poultry and livestock, non-formal education. People are
very poor and don’t know how to improve their condition but they are very much
interested for own development and co-operation. BSDS is doing to make them more
conscious by implementing its primary development activities emphasizing as the
foremost need and importance.
BSDS VISION
BSDS has the
vision of a just society in which both men and women can work together to form
Institutions to attain a higher degree of self-reliance in managing their own
affairs and achieve a Sustainable higher standard of living.
BSDS MISSION
BSDS endeavours
to bring about socio-economic changes in the lives of the poor, illiterate,
neglected, unskilled and malnourished people, especially women of the society
through empowerment and improvement of their life style. As a development
organization BSDS carries out its program in collaboration with the Government
of Bangladesh and NGOs with a view to reaching the envisaged goal. Its
development activities encompass individuals as well as groups among the target
population. The efficient and dedicated work force of BSDS is promise-bound to
make BSDS a self-sustaining organization and at the same time help the target
beneficiaries to achieve self-reliance through satisfactory completion of each
program.
OBJECTS
To from
group with the poor people, grow habit of savings among them and to create
fund through savings.
To
undertake income generation assistance program through lending and multifarious
development activities for the purpose of socio-economic development of the poor
and landless people.
To
create employment opportunities through development activities by establishing
livestock, poultry, dairy, pisiculture farms and cultivating different varieties
of crop by imparting modern agricultural training and training for cottage
industries and handicrafts etc.
To
arrange non-formal and primary education program for both the adults and the
children for protecting the general masses from the cause of illiteracy and to
make them good citizens.
To help the general masses so that they can get grants and loans from the
Government and non-government agencies.
To
assist helpless, shelterless and landless poor people in order that they can get
education, food, clothing, treatment and shelter.
To
undertake food for work program and thus construct and repair roads, culverts
etc.
To undertake program for tree plantation, vegetables and fruits cultivation for
the purpose of afforestation, environment protection and nutrition.
To augment social awareness for the prevention of exploitations including
repression to women and to help rehabilitation of the oppressed.
To
bring equality between male and female by removing sexual discrimination and to
help empowering the women.
To
take on less vested lands, ponds and water reservoirs in the name of the
Organization and to undertake different projects with the help of the members
for creating employment opportunities.
To
arrange and to establish graveyard and crematorium for those who have no such
arrangement and to arrange funeral of those decreased people who have none to
look after.
To
help, solve the problems of the people like social injustices, harassment by
touts, entanglement in false cases etc.
To
create consciousness among its members about health and family planning.
To
create awareness among the people of the use of pure and arsenic free drinking
water and of making sanitary latrines and their uses and to take necessary steps
in this respect.
To
help refrain adolescent criminals from their criminal activities and to direct
them in the right earnest paths of life.
To
organize sports, literary and cultural functions.
To
undertake disaster management training and to assist in pre-preparation and
rehabilitation of the affected people in order to face the natural calamities.
To
initiate effective measures for keeping healthy environment and to maintain
social discipline, peace and tranquility.
To
arrange primary health care, family planning measures and to supply materials at
cheap rate / free of cost inclusive of providing health services to the children
and the pregnant mothers in order to build a healthy nation.
To
ensure participations of all categories of the disabled / handicapped of all
ages in the development activities and to rehabilitate them in the society.
To
establish library to develop the rural and the urban poor people their knowledge
and skill for social emancipation.
To
eliminate drug addiction and to rehabilitate the drug addicted people in the
society by undertaking effective programs and to create awareness about AIDS.
To
create consciousness about fundamental rights of citizen / voters for the
practice of democracy and to impart primary legal education and to provide legal
aid.
To
create small entrepreneurs and to help marketing of their produces.
To
observer all national and international days.
To
undertake planning programs both short and long term and to implement them for
the successful fulfillment of the objects of BSDS.
